The Application of Miran KPM16J Linear Displacement Sensor for Detecting the Displacement of Machine Swing Arm
2026-10-14
In automated mechanical equipment, the angle and position control of the swing arm often directly determines the operation accuracy and stability of the equipment. Traditional limit switches can only perform simple position detection and are unable to meet the modern industrial demand for real-time displacement data feedback.
In this case, the customer used the Miran linear displacement sensor on the swing arm mechanism of the equipment. As shown in the figure above, one end of the sensor is fixed to the equipment frame, and the other end (the rod end) is connected to the transmission shaft of the machine swing arm through a universal joint or flexible connection piece.

Working principle and advantages:
When the machine's swinging arm performs up-and-down or rotational movements, the pull rod attached to the sensor undergoes synchronous linear extension and contraction. Inside the sensor, this mechanical displacement is precisely converted into an electrical signal output (such as 0-10V, 4-20mA, etc.), and is then transmitted in real time to the PLC control system of the equipment.
This application solution boasts the following notable advantages:
Ⅰ.High-precision feedback: It can measure the absolute position of the swing arm in real time and continuously, achieving closed-loop control and significantly improving the processing or operation accuracy of the machine.
Ⅱ.Installation flexibility: The Milang sensor has a compact structure. Combined with the flexible connection method visible in the picture, it can effectively absorb the small angular deviations generated during the swing arm movement, preventing the sensor rod from being bent and damaged due to force.
Ⅲ.Stable and durable: With industrial-grade protection design, it can withstand the long-term and high-frequency reciprocating motion of the equipment, has a long service life, and effectively reduces the maintenance costs in the later stage.
The Miran linear displacement sensor performs exceptionally well in such swing arm displacement detection scenarios. It not only perfectly replaces the traditional coarse position detection methods, but also provides reliable data support for the intelligent and precise control of the equipment.
The Miran Eddy Current Displacement Sensor has Extensive Application Scenarios in Multiple Fields.
